New York Ulysses Book Club (weekly)

The New York Ulysses Book Club, organized by the James Joyce Society: a weekly, virtual course/book club for readers of all levels of experience with Ulysses, but especially welcoming those who have always wanted to read the novel but have not had the time or circumstances. In this book club, we will read and discuss one chapter per week, starting February 8 and ending June 7, right in time for Bloomsday festivities. Our aim is to promote the idea that not only can everyone read Ulysses, but everyone can enjoy it.

When: weekly, Tuesdays 5:30pm-7:30pm EST

Where: virtual, course link to be distributed

Cost: FREE for James Joyce Society members.

The course will be facilitated by JJS President Jonathan Goldman, with Joyce experts from the James Joyce Society and around the world logging in to lead sessions and provide critical contexts. Guest leaders will include:

Robert Seidman

Sam Slote

Catherine Flynn

Caroline Elbay

Alison Armstrong
